Jason Newburg - Pilot and
Technician
Jason Newburg is an "Extreme Aerobatic Pilot “who loves to share his high energy
performance with airshow audiences around the country. He keeps spectators on the edge of
their seats and leaves them asking for more.
From the very beginning in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Jason’s father, Ron, instilled a
passion for aviation in his son. Ron built aircraft and competed in Aerobatic
Championships in the late 60’s and those performances inspired Jason to become the
aerobatic pilot he is today. At the age of 16, Jason had his first solo flight and by 17,
he had earned his pilot license. Sea and ski planes were the first he added to his list of
aircraft and he continued to build his experience in many different types of aircraft. In
1996, Jason discovered the aircraft that would satisfy his craving for an adrenaline rush.
The Pitts S1C allowed him to explore his interest of aerobatic flight that started in his
youth.
Since Jason himself was inspired at such a young age to perform aerobatics, he finds it
very important to be a leader to the youth who are inspired by aviation and aerobatics.
One of his favorite roles has been his involvement with the Embry-Riddle Sport Aviation
Club where he acted as Vice President for many years. He has been giving back to the
community by serving as an International Aerobatic Club Chapter President for 5 years.
After receiving his FAA Aircraft Mechanic license (A+P) with his FAA Inspection
Authorization, Jason formed his own company in Dallas, Texas as a way to put his aircraft
knowledge to work. He modifies and maintains aircraft and provides a wide range of
aviation services to aerobatic pilots. These skills were instrumental in the creation of
the Pitts Viper and Viper Airshows.
Jason has been granted by the FAA and ICAS an unlimited, unrestricted airshow
authorization. He is an avid Unlimited Aerobatics Competitor and has always stood behind
the experience, skills and discipline instilled by the sport. Jason has competed in a
number of events, and has competed at the Advance level since 2003. In 2006, he took his
talent to Sweden to compete in the Advanced Aerobatic World Championship competitor. He
has also competed in the Reno Air Races. In 2010 he competed in the Lonestar Aerobatic
Championship and earned himself the title of Lonestar Unlimited Champion.
Jason loves to perform for airshow audiences across the US. With his low level aerobatic
maneuvers and adrenaline-charged stunts, the crowd will see an awe-inspiring performance
that keeps them coming back for more. Jason and the Pitts Viper are guaranteed to be a
fan-favorite.
Jason is truly one of the few who can say they have Built It, Flies It, Lives It.
Barrett Brummett - Pilot and Technician
A Commercial Pilot with extensive experience from crop dusting, flying cargo to
competition aerobatics.
Barrett is also a craftsman and builder of high performance aerobatic aircraft.
He enjoys teaching aerobatics, unusual attitude and spin training.
Sharon Thomson - Pilot and Promotions
Sharon is energetic at providing media opportunities for the venue and our sponsor at any
events we attend. Sharon received her flight training and soloed in a J3 Cub. Airshow
critic, she offers a valued opinion on the quality and energy we must strive to provide
the venue.
Monty Hardy - Manager of Ground Operations
Monty’s main priority is to ensure that every Viper performance is well-orchestrated
and seamlessly executed. As part of his role, Monty manages the coordination of all
airshow preparation as well as marketing and promotional collateral for Viper. Monty holds
a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle University and is also a
recreational pilot. He has attained an FAA dispatcher license, and spent time as a
certified aircraft dispatcher prior to working for Viper. He was an active member of the
ERAU Sport Aviation Club and an FAA Safety Ambassador. In addition to his love of

Randy Seeds - Advertising and Marketing Design
Randy is an experienced advertising and marketing director. His contributions to Team
Viper Include Web design and other electronic media. From concept development to complete
project implementation, Randy has the vision, knowledge and experience to get the job
done. Randy ha also lead us into social networking communities like MySpace and Facebook

Justin Newburg - Graphic Artist
Justin has a vivid imagination. He designs artwork and produces the graphics for the
company, the aircraft, and concepts for joint marketing with our sponsors. With his
ability to design, fabricate and complete projects on demand we are able to change our
